The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is organizing the Kurunegala District Youth Rapid Chess Championships on 27th of June at St.Annes College-Kurunegala. This is one of the most prestigious events for the youth chess players in the country and winners will be eligible to play in the National Youth Rapid Chess Championships with the selectees of 15 other districts.
Event:
There will be total of 10 separate individual events (Under 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 years, Open and Girls). The events will be held according to the Swiss System minimum 5 rounds.(Depends on the number of participants)
Time control:
All moves in 20 Minutes. No need to score.
Eligibility:
Those who are below the respective age group before the 1st of January 2010 are eligible to participate in that event.
All last years’ winners, if they are playing in the same age category, qualify to play the National youth Chess Championships directly. All rated players and all players who played in the Sri Lanka National ‘A’ and Women’s National ‘A’ in 2010 will receive direct entry to the Sri Lanka National Youth Rapid Chess Championships.
Venue : St.Annes College-Kurunegala
Schedule: All 5 games will be played on 27th from 8.00am to 6.00 p.m..
Awards :
Winners will be awarded with certificates and number of players to be qualified will be announced before the 1st round.
Accommodation : Will not be arranged.
Entry Fee:
An entry fee of Rs. 250/= will be charged.
Late entry fee –Rs.100
