[PAST EVENT ]Chess Lesson and Free Play

In today’s session, we looked at more forks and pins. We also looked at a position after the puzzle was complete and demonstrated how to checkmate with being up in material against your opponent.

We also practiced checkmating with rook and how you can use the principle of shortening the squares for the king to move to by slowing moving your king and rook towards the opponent’s king. We recommend practicing mating with a king and a rook and a king and a queen as it is an important skill to master checkmates to win the game.
